While working on the new edition of the SafeMama Safe Baby Skin Care Cheat Sheet I came across several brands that were worthy of the list. One of those was Babo Botanicals. Babo Botanicals hair care and skin care for babies and kids are free of many ingredients we try to avoid, such as parabens, phthalates, sulfates, 1,4 dioxane, formaldehyde, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances and dyes, and propylene glycol. Now for the good part, Babo Botanicals carefully selects plant and vegetable-based ingredients and organic oils and extracts. Most of their line is up to 70% organic.
Babo Botanicals Hair Care Features
Another thing I found cool is their Rosemary Tea Tree Lice Repel shampoo and leave-in conditioner. I get questions all the time about handling lice naturally. This is a great way to deal with lice problems (and perhaps to keep them from spreading if you have multiple children). It’s also clinically proven 95% effective, which sounds pretty good.
I like how they provide “solutions” with their products, like their Swim and Sport Shampoo for sun and swim or their Berry Primrose for tangly or unruly hair. What’s great is these are all color safe for mom too. Even my own chemically highlighted hair (I know but seriously? Come on) had good results.
The scents are a bit stronger than I’m used to with other natural brands, but they get great feedback on all their products. They carry an unscented line if scents are not your cup of tea. My personal favorite is the Berry Primrose! I also packed the Clean Sport detangler in my beach bag for post-swim comb-outs.
Sustainably Sourced Ingredients
The care and consideration that goes into Babo Botanicals products are impressive. Their entire line is made of sustainably sourced ingredients. Babo Botanicals’ ingredients earned them a respectable spot on our Skin Care Cheat Sheet.
