Baby wipes are one of those things that even though you can try to live without them, make your own, make reusable ones out of fabric and a DIY recipe… you inevitably cave to the convenience at one time or another.  So when I received a sample of the new Jackson Reese Herbal Baby Wipes I was really excited to check them out. Sure there is chlorine free wipes and chemical free wipes and al that but they can still created unwanted waste.  But bio-degradable wipes? Sign me up…. IF they work.

I’ve tried others like these and have not been overly impressed with the texture or effectiveness.  Some brands use new fibers to make them earth-friendly but trade softness for it, requiring you use more than you need.  Not so with these new wipes.   Jackson Reece’s Baby Wipes are made from wood pulp, a sustainable resource, and are compostable and bio-degradable.  They use no icky chemicals, are free of parabens, petrochemicals, propylene glycol, triclosan, SLS, phenoxyethanol, and phthalates…. instead they use aloe, lavender, tea tree oil and purified water.

But do they work? Yes.  They are soft, they smell really nice (better than any ridiculous baby wipe on the shelves at Target) and you only need one because they are large enough to do the job.  I’m pretty excited about their new Flushable Wipes too – they will degrade in water within 8 days.  That, is cool.

I was excited to see that Jackson Reece’s Herbal Baby Wipes made the Product Winners of Itsabelly’s “Seal of Excellence” from ABC Kids Expo 2010 this year.  There were some fantastic brands chosen and I have to agree that Jackson Reece earned their spot on that winning list.
