Getting away from using plastic when it comes to kids dishware can be tricky. But once they reach an age where they are sitting with you to eat, you can start getting away with trying new materials. I discovered Be Kind and their dishes through The Glass baby Bottle initially and I heard they had a full line of kid sized glass dishes I was eager to check it out. I had one of my SafeMama’s test out the dishes with her adorable little girl and they were a big hit.
These tempered glass dishes are the perfect size for your little one. You can choose from a small place setting – 7.5 inch plate, 4.7 inch bowl, or the large 9 inch plate and 5inch bowl and your choice in cup size. The cups also come in two styles, Picarde or Gigogne (pictured) and your choice of Silisipper Lid.
The glass cups come in two sizes as well (5.4 oz or 7.4oz) and can be accompanied by a silicone Silisipper lid to prevent massive spills or used on their own. They aren’t a sippy cup so the lids are not leak proof. But if your child is old enough to handle a cup but needs a little safety net than these are a great add on to cup training.
Cabinets get filled to the brim with sippy cups and dishes in all sorts of crazy colors, so these are a nice way to simplify things. Basic clear glass makes your little one feel like a big kid at the table. not to mention reduces the colorful clutter in your cabinets. They are the perfect size for little kid meals but large enough to accommodate bigger portions. The bowl is idea for cereal and
If you are concerned about breakage, my tester couldn’t resist a shatter test. Only when held (in a sealed ziplock bag) over concrete at head level did the glass she tested shatter. So unless your kids are standing on top of the fridge in your garage, you’d be hard pressed to break these simply by falling off the table.oatmeal or just for fruit and snacks.
All their glassware is 100% recyclable too. Yay!
(Thank you to my tester Pam and her adorable little girl for testing these out for me!)
