We’ve talked about hand sanitizers before and whether you are anti or pro on-the-go hand sanitizers there is one thing we all can agree on is safety in ingredients for our little ones. I cringe at the sight of kids getting slathered with blobs of alcohol based gels at school and indoor playgrounds. But I also understand the paranoia a parent feels at the thought of their kids catching some icky virus. We have published a Hand Sanitizer Cheat Sheet in the past and one of the products that made our list is the hand sanitizers by CleanWell.
CleanWell uses a Thyme Oil Blend to offer it’s antiseptic quality. Many hand sanitizers use Triclosan, which in case you haven’t heard has some really negative effects on marine life and is an endocrine disruptor. It has been linked to hormone disruption in animal studies and may possibly make bacteria resistant to antibiotics. Needless to say, we SafeMama’s try to avoid it when possible and that includes in hand sanitizers. They also make hand soaps!

Ooh, spearmint lime foaming hand soap.
I would like the Starter Pack, Ginger Bergamot. I would keep the packets in my purse for my daughter’s sticky times. I’ve never used sanitizers before, due to the chemicals,she has “special needs”. I would use the products myself when I go to Curves since lots of women are using the machines.
I would love to try out the hand sanitizer! I’m so grateful to have found this healthy option!

I’d Love to try their all natural anti-bacterial hand soap in Orange Vanilla and I’d use it in my kitchen and bathroom. I also take it with me to places like the zoo or aquarium to help kill germs on the go

I have used the smaller size hand sanitizer, so it would be great to next try the foaming soap at home. I didn’t know they had other scents!
I’d like to see a review of the wipes. I have a 2 year old boy who picks up EVERYTHING he can get his hands on. Generally, I don’t sweat it too much. But, I still like to keep something on hand just in case. Living in Las Vegas makes keeping a container of wipes in the car unfeasible because the heat dries it up so fast. Also, he loves opening bottles and emptying the contents. As a result, I keep them out of his reach, which also puts them out of mine. So, individual wipes that are non-toxic would be a fabulous option! Thanks for all of your hard work on this blog and for keeping us “in the know!”
I would like to try the hand hygiene pack. My husband and I are trying to start a family and I am slowly replacing all of our usual home products with natural healthy alternatives. Cleanwell products will fit nicely into our household.

I think I’m actually going ot get the wall model with refills and see if they’ll install it in my preschoolers room next year. They dumped the bad stuff on little ones hands all day long last year in Pre-K 3.

After reading the story of the family and all the time, energy, and money spent by these parents and grandmother to make the world cleaner and safer for their son, I think it’s wonderful that their product is being shared with the rest of us through the mass market. Horray for Target to carry a variety of eco-friendly products including CleanWell. I’ll certainly try the products out, look for Triclosan in the products we are using, and vote with my dollar by purchasing this product. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Safemama!

I would love to try the foaming hand soap in Lavender Absolute in my kitchen. It has got to be better than the current antibacterial hand soap we’re using. So glad to have found an alternative to triclosan for hand sanitizers as well. I’ll definitely be buying some for my son’s school supplies in the fall.
