Lisa, you do have to life the arms to wash under them (armpits) but no more so than you would in a normal tub. There is still plenty of room to get your hands in the tub with baby in it, and wash around where it's needed.

I used this same style tub with my now 4.5 year old for her first two years, and with my now 14 month old. There is absolutely nothing else like it. Best of all, when you're done with the tub it makes a great container for multiple tasks around the house. You can't do that with a standard baby bathtub. They usually end up getting tossed (although we hope they are passed around to other families a few times!).

I'm wondering how you actually wash your baby when he's all squished up in this tub. Seems like you wouldn't be able wash his arms without pulling them way up and then how do you get to his tummy, legs, feet, etc? You will have to let us know how it all works when your baby gets a little older. I'm very curious about this one.

I live in Canada where this tub has been available for quite some time. I have it for my son and he LOVED it from the first day home from the hospital (he was 24hrs old). He grew calm and quite and just sat in their. He has always enjoyed bathing in it so much, but now he is too big (one!) and if I put him in it he stands up and risks toppling over. So...it's a GREAT tub for newborns, much warmer and comfortable than splaying out in one of those other baby tubs!
