I started doing my wash in cold/cold, with Crunchy Clean. My laundry room has never smelled so good! I also purchased Better Life cleaners, they work great and I don't have to worry about my daughter playing on the floor washed w/ chemicals. I also only use LuLu's and Little Twig on my daughter. Aveda stores collect these for use in their pacakaging and will even give a free sample in exchange for a drop off of (twist off) caps! We love not having to contribute to the landfill and only have cloth against our child's skin. I dry them out in the sun occasionally. switch to organic: we've made a pledge to buy organic this applies to food, our soaps/lotions/shampoos and clothing when available. compost: we've planted an edible garden, compost all our food scraps and updated our irrigation system to drip. Drinking filtered tap water in reusable bottles. BYOB: we bring our own bags to stores and groceries The list goes on, we carpool, consume less by buying only what's needed, take shorter showers, changed to HE washer/dryer, energy star appliances and cfls. We are planning to install solar panels maybe next year. That would be great if we can!
