One of the things I can officially say after using baby shampoo for the last 17 months, is that I’m so over the smell of lavender. In general, I never minded it, but it’s in the majority of baby care products. I get it, it’s supposedly soothing, but come on, how much lavender do you need? Is this nature’s baby Valium? While, I miss the days of sweet baby smell, my baby, is not so much of a baby anymore, and his shampoo needs to reflect that. So when Stashka over at Cooler Choices introduced me to Rock Star Baby Organic Shampoo, I figured, why not? I’m always up for trying out new “product.”
I’ve found my new favorite “big boy, but still a baby in my eyes” shampoo. It smells AWESOME. It lathers really nicely and smells like fresh limes. It comes in a nice heavy aluminum container. It’s a little watery, but it doesn’t affect the quality of the product. I know we want to hold onto that baby scent as long as we can, but now that my son smells like toddler funk at the end of the day, I’m fighting a losing battle. I’ll still inhale his hair after a bath, don’t get me wrong, but now instead of reminiscing of the days of smelling spit up and new baby, I’m dreaming of post bedtime margaritas.
