I came across Dapple Dish Liquid somewhere in my endless hours of surfing (post toddler bedtime of course!) and I thought to myself, that’s brilliant! I mean, there are lots of products for your baby’s body, and special detergents for their clothes, why not something for their dishes? And why didn’t I think of that?
Oh yeah, I was in a groggy haze from having a baby.
Of course there are safer dish soaps and dishwasher detergents, but I’m still leary of a lot of them, and especially the dishwasher detergent. Dapple is the first ever dish detergent made especially for your baby’s dishes. I wish I would have had this stuff during the early days, when I spent a good hour every night scrubbing the endless supply of (polycarbonate) bottles we had. It’s amazing how fast the build up happens on your bottles. Even in the dishwasher.
While we’re out of the bottle phase, for the most part, I decided to give the soap a whirl on my toughest job that I come across frequently. Dried on scrambled eggs. I don’t think there’s a single dishwasher that I’ve seen that gets caked on scrambled eggs off of a pan. So I put the dish soap to the test. And it came off with ease.
I only had a chance to try the dish soap, but it passed my test. It lathers nicely, doesn’t smell offensive, and rinses clean. Aside of the fact that it’s completely safe for your baby, and biodegradable, I don’t think you could ask for much more than that. Except for maybe a full time live-in maid to help you wash all of those dishes.
Get It: You can purchase Dapple directly from their website DappleBaby.com. They make both dish liquid and dishwasher detergent.
