You raise a good point, thanks Bonnie. That's why I said, mileage may vary. I don't think I'd flush if I had an old house either. ;o)

"If you flush them according to the directions in the booklet, you shouldn’t have a problem, but like I said, it really depends on your toilet’s pressure."

There's more than your toilet pressure to consider. Many house sewer pipes (especially for older homes) have been infiltrated by roots, which are the number-one cause of sewer back-ups. Anything that goes down your pipe can get stuck on those roots. If enough things get stuck, a clog occurs. Flushable diapers can make this potential problem much worse. Please take care... just because it goes down the toilet doesn't mean it was "successfully" flushed. It may be out of sight, but stuck in your pipe! :-)

Thanks for the review! My son has been cloth-diapered since he was born (we use Chinese Pre-folds and covers.) And, some of the downsides you mentioned, I think will happen with any cloth diaper (especially the bunching when wet.) And cloth diapered kiddos do need to be changed much more often, but they seem to potty train earlier (so it's a trade-off.) My 11mo old already rips his diaper off as soon as he is wet :)

The Little g Starter Kits are great because you get everything you need to try the system out with a very small investment. With cloth diapers, you need to make a bigger upfront investment. I tried Little g's after I had been cloth diapering for awhile with Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius pocket diapers and found cloth diapering to be easier. With cloth diapering, once you get into it, it is not a big deal. I think for people using the gdiapers full time it is the same way, once you get into it, you will get better at putting them on and using them more efficiently. I didn't have problems with leaks when I used Little g's, but changing dirty diapers in public was more of a pain than changing dirty cloth diapers. They are less bulky than cloth and my son seemed to find them comfortable.

Interestingly, I think if I had heard of Little g's when I was first considering cloth diapering, I might have used that system instead of cloth diapering, but I am glad I did pocket diapers first because I really do prefer the pocket cloth system to the g diapers.

Great review! I actually visited gDiapers headquarters last Friday here in Portland and briefly got to meet their founder, Jason (nice guy). I'm about to post a blog about my experience. Overall, it's a great company that's really focused on protecting our babies and the earth which makes me happy as a green baby planner. If anyone wants to try gDiapers out I have $2 off coupons and would be happy to send them one. That's how excited I am about the company's philosophy and its products!
